Different Type of Sand

Sand is a granular material made up of small rock and mineral particles that have been finely divided. Sand comes in a variety of compositions, but its grain size is what defines it. The grains of sand are smaller than those of gravel and coarser than those of silt.

Different Types of Sand:

Pit Sand: The pit sand is pure and it is collected from the ground by digging a hole. The depth of the hole is about 1 m – 2 m from ground level. Due to its excellent high connection quality, it is widely used in civil engineering.

River Sand: River sand is available in clean locations and can be used in a variety of ways for universal construction activities such as plastering and maintenance.

Sea Sand: This type of sand is extracted on the beach. Due to the presence of salt, sea sand is usually not used in construction. If you want to use it, you have to wash it well.

Artificial Sand: Artificial efficiency is different from river sand. It is made by crushing basalt and granite. This is a fine and coarse type of sand.

Brick Sand: This sand was used for masonry. The fine modulus of this sand should be 1.2 to 1.5 and should not contain more than 4% silt.
